What do you think you could honestly sell customers in the hopes that it would improve their day-to-day? For example, maybe you renovate homes and are always looking for the highest-quality paints or most eco-friendly cleaning solutions for bathrooms and kitchens. If you’re already knowledgeable about a market and have interest in it, that’s a great place to start.
Hey Tiffany, how are you today? This is an excellent guide and I love all the information! It’s true many people who have blogs have no idea about affiliate marketing and it’s potential, but there is so much money to be made from affiliate marketing it’s unreal. One tip I could give is people who are building up blogs should get into affiliate marketing earlier! Great post, have a great day… thanks for the great information!
Thank you for sharing your advice on Amazon and affiliate marketing. I just recently joined Amazon and have been updating my blogs using your techniques. Hopefully it works for me like it has worked for you, granted I know now based on your experience that I probably won’t see any big income from it for awhile but it is really nice to know I am on the right track to some success in the future.

The New York Times bestseller that explains why certain products and ideas become popular. Jonah Berger knows more about what makes information go viral than anyone in the world (Daniel Gilbert, author of the bestseller Stumbling on Happiness ). What makes things popular? If you said advertising, think again. People dont listen to advertisements, they listen to their peers. But why do people talk about certain products and ideas more than others? Why are some stories and rumors more infectious? And what makes online content go viral? Wharton marketing professor Jonah Berger has spent the last decade answering these questions. Hes studied why New York Times articles make the papers own Most E-mailed list, why products get word of mouth, and how social influence shapes everything from the cars we buy to the clothes we wear to the names we give our children. In Contagious , Berger reveals the secret science behind word-of-mouth and social transmission.

Thank you for a very straightforward introduction to the world of Affiliate Marketing. I’m looking forward to the journey and just starting out. For me, I’m just as enthusiastic about the challenge of gaining success for its own sake, as the financial rewards it may hopefully bestow on me. There are so many variables involved and putting the whole thing together feels like attempting a 40,000-piece jigsaw puzzle with a hangover.

Shopify is probably the most popular e-commerce solutions provider out there, but because there are so many products and options, newcomers can easily get confused. If you believe your audience has products to sell and could benefit from Shopify’s products and are able to elucidate the benefits of signing up for Shopify, you can definitely earn some big money with their affiliate program.
For example, if you were an Amazon affiliate and linked to some of your favorite books with affiliate links, if someone clicked on a link and purchased that book, you’d get a small commission. Even cooler is that some affiliates have 30-day cookies, meaning that if someone didn’t buy right then but bought 20 days later (and bought other stuff too), you get a commission for all of that. While most affiliates pay per sale, some pay per lead as well.

There is no shortage of products you’ll be able to promote. You’ll have the ability to pick and choose products that you personally believe in, so make sure that your campaigns center around truly valuable products that consumers will enjoy. You’ll achieve an impressive conversion rate while simultaneously establishing the reliability of your personal brand.
Be honest. Talk about what you like and don’t like. Be fair and build trust. It will serve you well later. For examples, check out my review posts about Elite Blog Academy and Self Publishing 101. I get emails frequently from people who tell me they decided to purchase one of those courses through my affiliate link because it was the most balanced review they found.
Liberty Classroom is a site focused on providing courses related to history and economics. If you write a blog related to such subjects you may want to join the Liberty Classroom affiliate marketing program and earn 50% commissions by promoting the site. When someone subscribes to Liberty Classroom via the affiliate link put on your blog, and stays subscribed beyond the refund period, you will earn 50% of the subscription fee.
I want to help you get started in affiliate marketing and I want to do it for free. If you sign up for this affiliate marketing e-course, by next week, you will have a rock solid affiliate marketing business model, a full website blueprint, and a roadmap for how to achieve success in this industry. From there, the rest is up to you. At the very least, I can help you lay the foundation and get started.
I couldn’t agree more the relationship with your audience, and the trust that you build with them, is the single most important asset you could ever have. Trust is the basis of all good marketing, If viewers do not trust you and see you as the expert, that they need to turn to, then the chances that you will succeed with Affiliate marketing in the long-term, are very slim. Such a great content and a perfect key strategy for every business industry to prosper. These were awesome, looking forward for more valuable content of yours!

Ahh thanks for the kind words. Glad you found the post helpful. I would focus on building up a good base of content first before adding affiliate links, because like you said, some programs might not accept you if your blog is still so new. 2 posts is a nice start, but I’d definitely work your way up to 10-15 posts, enough to “fill up” the blog before you apply for affiliate programs. That’s just my opinion though! The other thing about starting too early is that you haven’t really established authority or a solid audience that trusts you yet, so the odds of readers making purchases through you is much lower as well. Focus on content first, then programs! The good thing is, you’ve taken Michelle’s course, which I thought was super helpful in terms of getting in the right mindset for affiliate marketing. Now that you know what sort of content works, you can get a good strategy set out from the beginning. 🙂 Best of luck!
Russell Brunson teaches you how to turn leads into qualified subscribers. The strategy then goes into turning those subscribers into buyers and teaches you how to identify hyperactive buyers to build your business around them. This approach allows you to build a business as an affiliate rather than giving away your leads and customers to merchants.
Wow. Thank you for parting the mists of the mystery of affiliate marketing. I was drowning in vagueness and confusion for a few weeks there and now I feel like I have enough information to at least create a strategy around when I might want to start. I had no idea that it was so country-specific, which is important because I get just as many hits from European countries as I do the U.S.

For those new to this powerful online merchandising concept, affiliate programs work as intermediaries between the affiliate marketers who will sell products and services and the merchant who provides those products and services as well as the affiliates programs.  Merchants work with affiliates to help get their products or services to their consumers.

Quarterly strategies are the best idea to judge your blogging results because they are not too long-term. On the one side, this makes them more flexible and easier to adjust as you go, especially, when you see that some approach is not performing as expected, on the other side, the research for it is not that demanding and laborious as creating an annual blogging strategy.

Totally agree with your opinion on affiliate marketing. I’m in the same space myself and can tell you what it feels like to earn $1000 commissions while literally sitting on the sofa watching TV. It is absolutely mind-blowing. High-ticket commissions are what sets apart the affiliate marketers that scale their business up to six or even seven figures to the ones that only make a few thousand a month. I run a website based on digital marketing an entrepreneurship. You should check out our affiliate program – it is guaranteed to blow your mind. 🙂
You can't fully control the message of your brand exposure. "Rogue affiliates" can reflect negatively on your brand if they use sketchy tactics like e-mail spamming, false advertising, trademark infringement and other low-value practices. Set strict promotional guidelines and monitor your affiliate partners to ensure that they remain in compliance with them.

Another one of the highest paying and most popular dating affiliate programs is eHarmony, which is based on the actual earnings that can be made from each referred sale. Up to $188 can be made from a single sale. In general, the members at eHarmony are typically looking to find serious long term relationships, so many of them are willing to pay extra to find similar people.
Another great place to add affiliate links is on your high traffic pages. Take a look through your analytics to see which pages get the most views, and add a strong call to action on those pages. For instance, if I have a post about how to find a WordPress theme, I might end it with something like this: “If you’re looking for an SEO-friendly theme, here is one I recommend.”
If the business is very successful, Mr. Doe may seek to sell the business to a third party for a significant earnings multiple. Most likely, the Company will hire a qualified business broker to sell the business on behalf of the Affiliate Marketing Website. Based on historical numbers, the business could fetch a sales premium of up to 10 times earnings.
Consider a social media marketing strategy in conjunction with your website. If you have the resources, utilize a search engine optimization tool to help your site come up in search engines when users are searching for that particular product. You don’t necessarily need to have an entire content marketing plan, but you also shouldn’t “wing” your way through an affiliate marketing strategy. Like we said, successful affiliates continue to partner with companies, and continued partnerships mean a steady income!
So glad you wrote this up. After going to Type A i decided to have some paid advertising in some form on my blog after always having zero, and decided affiliate links were the way to go but i had no idea what to do with them. Thanks for summing up the session. I already starting signing up for some by looking at the places i purchase most of my stuff from and many use a affiliate provider that covers many. I never even though about banners and graphics. I read almost every blog in a reader so links seems like the only way to go.

But I think the biggest deciding factor in this, goes back to the site as a whole and all of the other posts. Are the genuine? Is the blogger constantly trying to push products? I’d like to think I’ve been doing this long enough that my audience knows I’m not out to make a quick buck – and I think even relatively new bloggers can prove this based on their other content.
You may have heard of ClickBank, one of the oldest and most popular affiliate networks. A billion-dollar company, ClickBank specializes in digital products like e-books and software, as well as membership sites. If you are comfortable selling information and don’t want the management and administration hassles of “real” businesses, this may be a good starting point. Its commissions can be anywhere from 10% all the way to 75%.
Pay-Per-Click is also considered as widespread and common affiliate agreement. Under this agreement, the affiliate marketers will get fixed rates depending on the number of clients who click on the links placed on the affiliate website that leads to the merchant website. Here a purchase is not necessary to earn commissions, all that has to be done is that the client clicks the link and stays at least thirty seconds on the merchant website. Regardless of what the visitor does on the merchant site, this will not affect the commission.
Fortunately, I learned about the CTPM process early on and it is still the backbone of my content marketing strategy. When you first start an affiliate marketing blog, you’ll be tempted to just make money as quickly as you can. This is the wrong way of thinking and often leads to an early failure. The CTPM process has proven to work time and time again. Here’s what CTPM stands for.

No programming skills are needed at all – If you don’t know anything about computer code, you’re in the right place. For those who are more advanced and want an expert level tutorial, this isn’t it. This guide on how to start an affiliate marketing blog is for the complete novice. I’ve created this guide to be the easiest, most straightforward, and easy-to-understand guide as I possibly could. It may encourage you to know that when I first started affiliate marketing, I knew nothing about how to build a website. In fact, I’m still not all that great with computer code and honestly I don’t care to learn it.

Acceleration Partners is leading the next generation of affiliate marketing. Already industry leaders in affiliate recruitment and engagement, campaign design, execution, attribution, and reporting, the company combines sophisticated strategy with high-quality account management to drive profitable customer acquisition at scale. With Acceleration Partners, the term "Performance PartnershipTM" goes beyond high-end affiliate marketing to brand new channels, like app-to-app marketing platforms, influencer marketing, and business development partnerships. All of this results in industry-leading success for high-end global retailers, including adidas, eBay, Jet, and Target.

In order to track the source of traffic, the merchant provides the affiliate with a coded link to the merchant's website. The merchant may also place a cookie -- a small text file -- on the customer's computer when he clicks the affiliate's link. The length of time this cookie is valid may vary from 24 hours to the lifetime of the cookie. The longer the cookie length, the more chance the affiliate has of being paid for future sales to the same customer. However some users regularly delete all cookies from their computer.
In The 1-Page Marketing Plan, serial entrepreneur and rebellious marketer Allan Dib reveals a marketing implementation breakthrough that makes creating a marketing plan simple and fast. It’s literally a single page, divided up into nine squares. With it, you’ll be able to map out your own sophisticated marketing plan and go from zero to marketing hero.
By quite a large margin Amazon has the largest affiliate marketing program out there, with products from more than 1.5 million sellers. Amazon has the most easy-to-use technology of all the affiliate programs I will be reviewing today. Beginners to affiliate marketing with even the most limited technical expertise will have no problems in getting up and running with the Amazon associates program, while more experienced marketers can create custom tools and websites with the APIs and advanced implementations available to them. The great thing about Amazon is that anything from kids toys to laptops can generate sales if they are purchased through any Amazon affiliate link.
Before I share the strategies that I’ve used to generate over $100,000 in affiliate commissions per month at this point, there are two extremely important rules I use when promoting products that are not my own. You don’t have to use these rules in order to become an affiliate or be successful at it, but it’s what has helped me grow my affiliate income tremendously over the last couple of years:

We analyze the types of reports which are being generated to both the advertiser and the publisher involved in the affiliate marketing campaign. The vendors which we recommend offer both parties with comprehensive reports which provide both an outline of the performance of a campaign and detailed information to help them better understand the most and least effective areas of performance. We also investigate the advice communicated to both parties and any additional information.
Write down the types of people who like the products you have chosen to market. This is your target market. Women will be more interested in fashion or jewelry than teenage boys for example, but younger newly married women may be more interested in baby or family-oriented products instead. Write down as many details as you can for your target market because being able to speak to them on their level through your publishing and advertising efforts is critical to a successful affiliate business.
For example, if I talk about how cool a product is, and then you find out that I’m an affiliate for them, wouldn’t you as a conscientious observer become skeptical as to whether my information is biased, if perhaps I’m only saying how cool something is because I can get paid for it? Wouldn’t that make you question my integrity with other things I say as well?
This is NOT a get-rich-quick strategy – In this guide, I will help you lay the foundation of your affiliate marketing business. You don’t need any programming skills and setting up your affiliate marketing blog really will be a pretty straightforward process. However, learning how to start an affiliate marketing blog is just the beginning. Truly earning money with an affiliate marketing blog takes time. This is true for any business though, isn’t it?

Affiliate marketer or a publisher who is an individual who will publish the advertisement on his web page blog and advertise the product for the business. His remuneration for advertising the product solely depends on the how he can push his webpage or blog further. How famous he is or what topics he blogs about and well-known his blog will determine how many people will visit his site. He gets commission for marketing the product if the person visiting his site either clicks or buys the product depending on the agreement between him and the business.

CPA marketing programs pay affiliates when a specific action is taken by the referral or lead. Common actions include clicks, impressions, form submits, sign-ups, registrations, or opt-ins. Since Cost-Per-Action models don’t necessarily involve a direct sale (and involve more risk taking) the payout percentages are far smaller than they are in Cost-Per-Sale.
My niche is brand new and affiliate marketing is making it an out-of-the-gate powerhouse. Governments and retailers in the old economy did not see this coming and in fact I believe that they still don't realize how big it is. As the old market continues to focus its sites on the dusty model of industry leaders and giant retailers (yes, even including Amazon), the real news is the proliferation of niche business driven by affiliate sales. 2018, here we come!
Great article. Great resources. I do find it quite odd that people will reject sellers. As an affiliate marketer and new blogger myself, this is extremely frustrating. Now, I know there could exist a reason for rejection, especially within marketplaces, however, I haven’t the faintest idea why they would off the bat. I have heard it reduces epc’s (earnings per click), but, I don’t get why people care about this other than for some contests internally. Which in my opinion hurts less than refusing essentially free eyeballs on your products.
Just like ClickBank, Commission Junction is an advertising platform that works with suppliers. Commission Junction works with big brand names. But they are still a middleman. You won’t be working or dealing with the individual companies yourself, which can be nice and can be a pain. Commission Junction does have higher requirements for joining their program. It’s not impossible if you’re serious about affiliate marketing.
Great analysis of the environment Kyle. I have been following the closure of once was the large box stores that anchored a shopping mall and my view is exactly the same as what you stated. They did not keep up with how shoppers are using technology and the convenience of online shopping. Your experience in affiliate marketing and ecommerce is a big help to those of us (meaning me) who are neophytes in this world. Thank you for this.
As this article aims to cover affiliate marketing for beginners, here’s a little example for you. So, let’s assume John is an affiliate. He has a website which is all about skateboarding. On it, he has a blog where he shares videos of his latest stunts, pictures of the parks he’s visited, and in-depth reviews of the best and worst skateboards he’s ever used.
Having the awareness that you can earn and inspire more by finding easier ways to do things is called being smart. Knowing other job options in which one can still have the energy to work on is smart. Having a stable job and at the same time doing part-time which you know you could handle and that pays well is smart. Money has been a priority for some as the means for survival but not a lot earn what they deserve. They have to go through a lot of years of experience just to have a raise and often, it isn’t enough. One way to earn passive income is to be an affiliate in a company or business. You may also see international marketing plans.
I've tried affiliate marketing in the past without a lot of success, so wasn't sure that this book would help me much with giving it another shot. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There's no fluff or filler in this book - it's obviously written by someone who knows what they're talking about and it covers (in detail) what it promised - how to get started (and be successful) in affiliate marketing. I especially appreciate that the author added sections that aren't typically covered in these kinds of books, like how to use videos and bookmarking in your efforts as well as how to deal with backlinking after Google's Penguin and Panda updates. Glad I picked this one up. It's a keeper.
SkimLinks works very similarly to VigLinks in that it is designed for bloggers who don’t want to do a lot of hands-on work to participate in an affiliate program. SkimLinks also works much like VigLinks in that it uses a plugin or script to create dynamic links in your content to send visitors to higher paying offers from merchants. SkimLinks claims to work with over 24,000 merchants/advertisers.
For the publisher, FlexOffers provides benefits such as a detailed dashboard that visualizes the success of various campaigns. The platform generates reports that update within the hour and offers news updates on what’s happening in the platform. It claims to add nearly 50 new advertiser programs per day, meaning affiliates are never running stale on options to generate income.
This is a HUGE one! A lot of people register for Amazon Associates at the beginning of their blogging career because they assume it’s just good to “get it out of the way”. Don’t!! *foams at the mouth* I repeat: don’t register until your blog is reasonably established and you’re quite certain someone out there will buy something off of your link. If you don’t net any sales within your first 90 days, your account will get shut down. You’re welcome to apply again, but by then, your fragile ego will be in ruins.

The AdSense Code is concise and very focused on the objective of revealing the proven online strategies to creating passive income with Google AdSense. The AdSense Code reveals hands-on solutions to many of the concerns and challenges faced by content publishers in their quest to attract targeted traffic, improve content relevance and increase responsiveness to AdSense ads – using easy and legitimate techniques that have worked for those who know the secrets. Google AdSense expert, Joel Comm, provides you with the keys you need to “”crack”” The AdSense Code and unlock the secrets to making money online.

Why should you read this book? This 300-page book shows you how to use digital marketing to grow your organization, increase audience engagement, and acquire new customers. This useful marketing book covers the customer journey, marketing strategy and planning, landing pages, blogging, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media, digital advertising, email marketing, and analytics.
Know when to wait. Some affiliate programs require a certain level of traffic, subscribers, etc. If that’s the case, I say it’s better to wait to apply for that program instead of applying and hoping for the best. You risk being labelled the person who can’t follow guidelines and you might also risk not be allowed into the program when you do meet the qualifications.
Why should you read this book? The authors realize that today marketing is all about customers service and that we live in an age of opportunity: create a more engaged customer experience strategy. This book explores two frameworks for implementing a new marketing operating system for optimizing the customer experience and help your organization gain a competitive advantage. This book explores how organizations can best compete in today’s market by meeting customers where they are and how to engage them in an effective way.
And since everything is mobile nowadays, you can even run your business while you’re on your way to the office or during breaks. This means you don’t even need your own website to start affiliate you enjoyed this post, definitely check out the beginners guide to affiliate your email subject lines suck & what to do about t quick start guide: setting up profitable sales funnels. For example:It could also be an entire site that’s dedicated to finding cool products related to certain topic and promoting those affiliate products.
The old world of marketing was dominated by interruption, like ads thrown at you in the middle of your T.V. show. That whole approach is being totally disrupted by the ideal of giving away value and wrapping your product up in the middle of it. Things like content marketing through valuable articles related to your niche, YouTube shows, and podcasts allow your product to be featured at the heart of valuable content. When you don’t interrupt, but are invited into people’s lives through this kind of content the advertising is seen in a different way and can reach the eyes and ears of customers or clients in a much more positive light and more easily be seen as a solution rather than an interruption.
That being said, LinkConnector’s platform looks and feels outdated and is rather clumsily designed. Their dashboard also makes it difficult to find “hot” products or compare conversion rates, leaving affiliates somewhat in the dark about which products to choose. Ironically, despite their low-quality website, they offer some of the best customer service in the affiliate space.

i have just started it. But i am not new to it after almost 6 months of research. I have studied affiliate marketing from super affiliate blog like affilorama (free lessons from this blog) niche hacks and authority hacker etc. But i don’t know how to design affiliate websites and blogs. I also don’t know how and where to research to create unique content?
Another something I discovered at the end of last year that I can’t rave about enough is Easy Product Displays. (And if, ahem, you want to use my affiliate link it’s: http://easyproductdisplays.com?ref=t2hmkr-119) It’s a service that’s about $6/month, made to help make it super-simple to code nice-looking image displays of affiliate products. It works fabulously, but the reason I REALLY love it is that even if you don’t want to use the display part, it makes it about 1000 times easier to find Amazon product links with your affiliate code already built in. I often use it just for searching for those, because it’s so much faster than Amazon itself.
JVZoo’s strength is that it allows experienced marketers to gain access to product launches and a huge range of online courses while setting up sales funnels and customized landing pages. It’s definitely not for someone who wants to monetize a blog or earn money by having users click through and buy physical products. If you’ve carved out a strong presence online in the marketing space, JVZoo might be a perfect fit.

There’s something about reading books that has stood the test of time. In this marketing classic, Hopkins exposes the world to the idea that there are two veins of thought in marketing. The one he espouses and assures us is attainable, is quantifiable return on investment. Since the days of coupons, marketers have been using numbers to figure out whether their campaigns were effective. He shares with us ways to help your audience see the benefits more quickly such as using numbers and research, and making more specific claims over general ones in headlines, amongst other nuggets of advertising insight that stand the test of time.
Additionally, feel free to seek out conversations with both consumers and other professionals. Send out LinkedIn invitations to those you think might be a good professional contact. Join Twitter conversations that are relevant to your industry or product. Physically attend networking events or conferences you think could result in a stronger network or more informed strategy. You’re a part of a community now, but other people don’t know that unless you show up.
ShareASale offers pay-per-sale, pay-per-lead, and pay-per-click programs, with a minimum payout of $50. ShareASale is my favorite affiliate program network because of their large marketplace (they have tons of blogger-friendly affiliate programs) and the ease of use. If you want to make money through affiliate marketing, I highly recommend you give ShareASale a try.
Impact Radius' global performance marketing platform is disrupting traditional affiliate network models, empowering marketers and agencies by providing the technology to track and optimize partnerships. This is unique in the affiliate space because it allows brands to align programs with their own business objectives and gain unique insights into the value of each partnership. Impact Radius' technology also allows marketers to capture and analyze results across all marketing channels to intelligently optimize marketing spend. With this kind of vision, it's no surprise that Impact Radius recently secured $30 million in growth funding from Silversmith Capital Partners.
This is my first comment on your blog and I am really impressed by the quality of the content! You said that Amazon is famous but it’s complex and I agree with you upon that. As a beginner, I don’t think it’s a good idea to join complex affiliate programs. I recently published an infographic about affiliate marketing sats (https://www.earnyfy.com/affiliate-marketing-stats-2016) amazon was not the list of top affiliate networks used by affiliate marketers. I think Clickbank is good for the beginner. And another I think liked is that telling people that it’s not as easy as it sounds. Most people think making money is really and when they know the truth they call it a scam and give up.

LinkConnector has struggled to stand out from the pack but nonetheless has managed to sign some exclusive deals with big name brands, including Writer’s Digest, the Disney Store, Ironman, Hats.com, and Everly. Their strictly controlled screening process for both merchants/advertisers and affiliates/publishers means that you can always rely on the quality of products on offer.
Determine your interests. Do you blog about green products, baby stuff, travel? But don’t just think about your blog’s overall theme. For example, if you wrote a post about green living but don’t typically do so, sign up for affiliates related to that subject and add them to that post. I asked the panelists how many affiliates they were a part of and the answer was HUNDREDS. Yes, hundreds. While that sounds daunting, you aren’t going to do all of these at once. You’ll build this up over time.

The Wall Street Journal calls him a top influencer on the web, Forbes says he is one of the top 10 marketers, and Entrepreneur Magazine says he created one of the 100 most brilliant companies. Although there are some new trends to attach your domain names with some extravagant endings such as .blog; .live; .guru; .nyc; or .marketing… I would advise you to stick the old school “.com” - not only because it is the most recognized and most accessible TLD but also because it possesses the greatest ranking power in comparison to other extensions.

The seller, whether a solo entrepreneur or large enterprise, is a vendor, merchant, product creator, or retailer with a product to market. The product can be a physical object, like household goods, or a service, like makeup tutorials. Also known as the brand, the seller does not need to be actively involved in the marketing, but they may also be the advertiser and profit from the revenue sharing associated with affiliate marketing.
While any “regular” job requires you to be at work to make money, affiliate marketing offers you the ability to make money while you sleep. By investing an initial amount of time into a campaign, you will see continuous returns on that time as consumers purchase the product over the following days and weeks. You receive money for your work long after you’ve finished it. Even when you’re not in front of your computer, your marketing skills will be earning you a steady flow of income.

Hello, Jerry so good to read your post as usual. I always look at your work and I am amazed at how professional and well detailed your work is. You are right with what you said about affiliate marketing and I feel the same way too. This is a great way to work for yourself and live life on your own terms. You have a ton of awesome information that will inspire your readers.
A relative newcomer that was only founded in 2014, ConvertKit has taken the world of email marketing by storm. According to the company, they now have nearly 20,000 active customers of their email services. Their affiliate program works by paying existing customers a lifetime 30 percent commission for referrals that subsequently become ConvertKit customers or who sign up for ConvertKit webinars and other digital products.
I once persuaded my mum to buy all my Christmas presents using my affiliate links on Amazon, and then found out that Amazon won’t pay out to anyone with the same surname as you (as they assume them to be family; luckily I have an unusual surname!) or anyone who lives at the same address. However one of my friends has ordered through one of my affiliate links and the commission has tracked for that. It’s my ONLY commission, mind. And my account hasn’t been shut down yet (touch wood, fingers crossed etc etc…)
I’m in the process of creating a new blog now and have decided on a niche to focus on. I’d like to implement affiliate marketing as soon as the blog launches. Was wondering if affiliate networks require those requesting to become affiliate marketers to have a certain number of followers before approving the request to join the affiliate program? Generally, what types of requirements have to be met when applying to join an affiliate network? I’d hate to apply then get rejected because I haven’t met the minimum requirements, if those exist. Thanks!
